Porsche Motorsport Technician (Level 2)
Location: Hayward, CA
Base Pay: $38.00–$50.00 per hour based on experience and certifications
Additional Compensation: Commission eligibility begins after successful completion of the probationary period.

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and detail-oriented Motorsport Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and performing advanced performance upgrades on Porsche and other high-performance vehicles. You will be entrusted with complex technical challenges that require independent judgment, critical thinking, and a systematic approach to problem solving.
As a key member of our team, you will take ownership of your work from diagnosis through completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and craftsmanship. You will also serve as a technical resource and mentor to other technicians, sharing knowledge and helping elevate team performance. Your expertise, professionalism, and commitment to excellence will play a critical role in delivering the exceptional driving experience and customer satisfaction our clients expect.
Key Responsibilities
The Level 2 Technician’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performing advanced diagnostics on electrical, mechanical, and software systems.
Completing complex repairs and performance upgrades.
Removing and installing engines and transmissions.
Setting up and tuning suspension and chassis components.
Installing and modifying motorsport safety and performance equipment.
Interpreting wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
Conducting detailed inspections and providing repair recommendations.
Mentoring and supporting junior technicians.
Following all shop safety procedures and quality-control standards.
Contributes to overall shop productivity by performing Level 1 Technician tasks when required.
Minimum Qualifications
Porsche Gold Certification OR ASE Master Technician certification WITH 5+ years of hands on experience.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Experience working on high-performance vehicles, with Porsche experience strongly preferred.
Proficiency in:
Suspension geometry, corner balancing, ride height setup, and performance alignments.
Engine and transmission removal, installation, and drivetrain servicing.
Performance aftermarket parts installation and motorsport vehicle modifications.
Manual transmission diagnosis, repair, and operation.
Advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
Race car setup, chassis tuning, and suspension adjustments for track and competition use.
Motorsport safety equipment installation and servicing, including seats, harnesses, fire suppression systems, and electrical master switches.
Motorsport wiring, electrical troubleshooting, and interpretation of wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
Race vehicle inspection, preparation, and preventative maintenance for test days and race weekends.
Brake system servicing, including racing brake bleeding, pad and rotor replacement, cooling system inspection, and performance optimization.
Ability to interpret driver feedback and diagnostic data to identify root causes and recommend effective performance or reliability improvements.
Demonstrated proficiency in all Level 1 Technician duties, including:
Routine maintenance and scheduled service according to OEM and shop standards.
Comprehensive vehicle inspections with accurate documentation and repair recommendations.
Basic accessory installation and light mechanical repairs.
Parts identification, research, ordering, and inventory coordination.
Accurate documentation, repair orders, timekeeping, and job tracking.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all shop safety procedures and quality-control standards.
Preferred Qualifications
OEM Porsche training/certifications.
Automotive vocational school or apprenticeship completion.
TIG/MIG welding and fabrication experience.
Performance tuning software experience (Cobb, Motec, etc.).
Education
Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology, or a related field preferred.
